Thomas Vigil is a senior at Espanola Valley High School in Northern New Mexico. He has struggled with academics all of his life. With a strong friendship network, he loves coming to school but has difficulty with traditional learning, which requires reading, writing, and sitting still in a desk. However, he gained confidence in his ability to succeed in school when he became involved in arts programming and television production at his high school.

Thomas, who is highly creative, has found a new interest in school and is eager to learn. Thomas has improved his school performance due to his engagement in school through the arts. His grades have soared, along with his commitment to excelling to his own standards of success. Thomas is now planning for the future and will hopefully go on to college or a technical school. Thomas is the youngest of three siblings, and lives with his parents in Espanola Valley, NM.
